Biography

An American actress, teacher, singer, and activist. Billings is among the first openly transgender performers to have played a transgender character on television, which she did in the 2005 made-for-TV movie Romy and Michele: In The Beginning.

She also played Xena in the musical “Xena Live” which was performed in Chicago in 1999 at the About Face Theater.

Billings lives in Hollywood, California with her wife Chrisanne. They were married in a commitment ceremony in Chicago on December 4, 1995. Billings met her wife at the age of sixteen on the first day of drama class. Everyone in the class was suppose to stand up and introduce themselves to the entire class. Billings stood up and was about to talk about herself when she locked eyes with Chrisanne, and fell “instantly in love.” Billings was chosen as the Grand Marshal for the Pride Parade in Chicago, Illinois on June 28, 2009.
