Coming Soon To a Con Near You?

Coming Soon To a Con Near You?

We run LezWatchTV out of our own pockets, so our ability to go to conventions is a bit hampered by the reality of bills and the like. That said, Tracy and I will be doing our level best to hit up some conventions and press the flesh.

I’ll be honest, part of this is just to get the word out. Hey, we’re here, we’re counting queers, get used to us. But also we want to be more of a part of the people who are doing amazing things, see what we’re missing, and make connections. We want to grow.

We’ve been applying for press passes to all events, so if you see us there with our phones out, asking for a ‘quick word’ that’s why!

TGI Femslash

February 16-18

Since it’s in my proverbial backyard, I’ll be off to TGI Femslash to soak in the slash, but also to talk to people about their favorite queer lady moments. The convention is for more than just tv, but I’lll be there for things like the Steven Universe panel. I’m hoping to meet some fans and get some information as to what people are looking for out there. After all, if we can help you find it, we’ll do our best to get it!

ClexaCon

April 5-7

Yes, the ClexaCon. Tracy will be in attendance as a regular guest. I’m (sadly) unable to make it, but I know she’ll have a great time and meet some amazing people. There won’t be a booth or a table, but we have asked about maybe being able to put out some stickers and pins. If not, look for Tracy and ask her nicely for one.

Universal FanCon

April 27-29

Tracy is nuts for doing two in a month, but she is! Universal FanCon is the first large-scale, 24-hour, inclusive event that celebrates the diversity of fandom and the diversity of fans. Tracy will be there! Be nice to her 🙂

What Else?

While I used to attend Comic-Con International: San Diego back in the 80s (when it was called “San Diego Comic Con” and was actually about comics), we were just too late out of the gate to get tickets or press passes. Maybe next year.

Wizard World Comic Con is up in the air right now. They have a Philly venue, but I’ve heard questionable stories about things.

WonderCon Anaheim Comin-Con is also a maybe. They have a site up for 2018, but all the data on Press Passes is for 2017. A little confusing.

If there are cons you think we should be checking out, please let us know. We’re clearly new at this!

About Mika A. Epstein

Mika has been deep in fandom since she could say 'Trekkie.' With decades experience in running fansites, developing software, and organizing communities, she's taken on the challenge of delving into the recesses of television for queers long forgotten. Making this site with Tracy is nothing short of serendipity. Mika lives with her wife in Southern California. Of course she has a hybrid, but she'd rather ride her bicycle.
