Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, half of this post is focused on all the Motherland: Fort Salem ships and I’m not sorry about it.
Dear White People is coming back on September 22!
My day job is to be a history nerd and my night job is to be a queer TV nerd so there’s nothing I love more than when the two things combine. The upcoming TV anthology series about First Ladies will include the story of Eleanor Roosevelt and Lorena Hickok, played by none other than Gillian Anderson and Lily Rabe.
Okay, not going to lie, this last episode of Good Trouble really secured my investment in this ship:
Surprise! Look what’s back!
Season two of TLWGQ premiered last week and, as much as I love the OG cast, I am already reminiscing about how cute the new cast is.
Love, Victor will be returning for a season 3.
Listen, I don’t watch this show but nothing has ever convinced me that I should watch it more than this photo.
Oh, look which couple continues to be soft and cute…
I could apologize for my MFS obsession that is about to shine through this section but I’m not actually sorry. This show delivers new possible ships every week and I’m not mad about it. This week? #Talder. Tally and Alder. Neither of which has been confirmed queer but both of which absolutely have queer vibes. Even Jessica Sutton knows it:
But, okay, back to the real canon couple. The provider of all the angst.
To bring this all together, the show provided us with great behind-the-scenes interviews this week, including moments where Jessica talks about the #Talder sexual tension and Taylor talks about the kiss like no other kiss before it.
In case you forgot, Lili Reinhart ain’t straight.
Look who is back on set!
The new Stranger Things trailer includes Robin so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
In case you wanted a quick cry this Friday afternoon…
The Wilds finished filming season two this week which stinks for the cast but is good for us because that means we are one step closer to seeing new episodes!
Admittedly, I will miss these TikToks though…
And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
