On this chapter of The Queerest Things I Watched Last Week, it’s been a minute! Here is a quick check-in on the queer things I’ve been watching over the last few weeks including The L Word: Generation Q season 2.

Hi, QTIwlw readers! It’s Leo Season in my house so I’ve been busy celebrating birthdays and not writing about queer television. However, Queer TV marches on and it’s time for a quick report on my shows.
- The Chi – Season 4 Episode 10 “A Raisin in the Sun” [Live]
-
I spent The Chi season 4 finale worried something bad was going to happen to every character I love, and instead, it ended joyfully!
Trig ran Douda out of town (does this mean Roselyn can take over as Mayor?), Tiffany is happy with her new corny (in a cute way) boyfriend, Jada’s cancer is in remission, Nina lets Lynae move in after Dre asks her to and the episode ends with a fun block party.
My absolute favorite part of the episode was this scene with Shaad and Imani.
“That’s my family.” ❤️
At the beginning of the season, Shaad was transphobic and generally disrespectful to Imani while he was staying in her house! But Imani stood up for herself and Trig backed her up while she made him apologize to her and Shaad evolved. People can get better!
Also, I’m so glad this person was wrong.
Not everything ended with happiness and rainbows. Nina and Dre are still on rocky ground, but no one has moved out. Hopefully, they will be able to work through Nina’s betrayal in season 5.
- Motherland Fort Salem – Season 2 Episode 8 “Delusional” [Live]
-
Raelle and Scylla were finally reunited!
I hope we see more of Scylla in the rest of season 2. The Motherland Twitter account is making me feel confident.
- The Republic of Sarah – Season 1 Episode 9 “Sons and Daughters” [Live]
-
The Republic of Sarah is my low-stress summer watch. I am totally enjoying the small-town turned its own country shenanigans with a side of queer drama.
Last week, the truth came out about AJ & Alexis and Bella knows all about it.
I am hoping for a grand romantic gesture from Alexis asking AJ to take her back.
- Good Trouble – Season 3 Episode 15 “Lunar New Year” [Live]
-
Wow, so Alice and Sumi kissed at the end of the last episode of Good Trouble.
I was very much anti-Team Sumi, but she seems to have matured and didn’t treat Alice like her doormat last week. I’m coming around.
- The L Word: Generation Q – Season 2 [Live]
-
Lots of drama already happened in The L Word: Generation Q season 2, but I’m here for Gigi and Bette and my wife’s commentary.
My wife: “It’s like two power tops trying to have sex with each other. ‘You wait, no, YOU wait.’”
I don’t think they are sustainable as a couple, but I’m here for it while it lasts.
- Legends of Tomorrow – Season 1 Episode 1 “Title” [Live]
-
Ava and Sara have been in wedding planning mode for the last couple of episodes.
I can’t wait for the big Legends wedding!
This week: I swear I’ll be back to doing full-on The L Word: Generation Q season 2 recaps!
