Queer Beats – January 10, 2020

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, a slew of our favorite shows were renewed, Gentleman Jack began work on season 2, and Rosa Diaz is our daddy.

I first quickly want to shoutout the GLAAD Media Award nominations which came out this week. Check out the full list because I bet a lot of your favorite shows made it! Hopefully we see some of our favorite stars at the ceremony in April!

American Horror Story

American Horror Story was one of many shows that got renewed this week:

And, thankfully, Sarah Paulson will be returning for the next season!

Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Clexacon announced the addition of Janet Varney to this year’s convention, known for her role as Korra.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I really enjoyed this tweet from Stephanie Beatriz because Rosa Diaz is, in fact, our daddy:

We also got a new B99 trailer this week!

Gentleman Jack

Just seeing this face and knowing that it is coming back to us for another season makes me so unbelievably happy:

Killing Eve

Killing Eve was renewed for another two seasons!

Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow also received good renewal news (along with other CW faves such as Supergirl, Batwoman, Nancy Drew, Black Lightning, All American, Riverdale, and Charmed). Caity Lotz posted this picture of the cast celebrating with some Beebos:

Jes Macallan also celebrated in her own way:

Mrs. America

FX released the first official trailed for the new series, Mrs. America, starring Cate Blanchett:

Riverdale

Vanessa Morgan got married this week (congrats!) and one of her bridesmaids was Madelaine Petsch, which was extremely cute for all the Choni fans out there.

Supergirl

This was one of my favorite moments of the week: Chyler and Azie playing with some instagram filters between scenes on the Supergirl set.

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
