Queerest Things - Runaways season 2

On this chapter of The Queerest Things I Watched Last Week, it’s Christmas Eve, and all is quiet this week in TV. I do have Runaways Season 2 and Holiday Help Desk for you all!

Warning: This post contains spoilers!
Runaways – Season 2 Episode 1 “Gimme Shelter” [Streaming]

I was looking forward to Runaways season 2, seeing the kids figure out their powers and the evolution of Karolina and Nico’s relationship. I’m three episodes in to the season, and it’s okay so far.

The #Deanoru content is pretty minimal and that is disappointing. I would be fine with it if all of the kids didn’t have much in terms of romantic story lines, but Alex got a pretty big love interest arc. I get frustrated with shows when the queer characters aren’t treated equally.

They did have this brief moment in this episode:

I’m still enjoying the show and will keep watching. Hopefully, it’ll have more Deanoru content, but I am not feeling very optimistic.

Holiday Help Desk – Short Movie [Streaming]

Our pal Hillary Esquina has given us something the community has been repeatedly asking for — a romantic queer holiday movie!

Here is the synopsis of Holiday Help Desk:

When Lauren gets stuck working her IT job on Christmas Eve, a simple call for technical help turns into holiday magic.

I just watched it, and y’all, it’s so cute! I don’t know how she did it, but Hillary packed an entire queer romcom into 15 minutes.

It’s available now for rent or purchase on Vimeo.

Please watch it and support queer content creators!

This week — NEW STEVEN UNIVERSE! I can’t wait.
