On this chapter of The Queerest Things I Watched Last Week, it’s a quickie recap week from Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu to Tommy drama and a Station 19 #Marina report.
I had a huge work deadline I needed to devote most of my time to this past weekend, so this Queerest Things is going to be all quickie recaps!
- Little Fires Everywhere – Season 1 [Streaming]
-
When my wife and I started Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu I thought to myself, “This is an enjoyable drama.” Then as each episode passed the story got deeper and more layered until we were obsessed.
There are multiple queer characters and story lines.
The cast gave really amazing performances as well. I highly recommend adding Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu to your pandemic watch list.
- Motherland: Fort Salem – Season 1 Episode 7 “Mother Mycelium” [Live]
-
Scylla has been in Witch Jail since the wedding and Anacostia hasn’t had any luck getting into her brain to see her Spree-related memories. To shake her up, they put a sleeping spell on Raelle and dragged her into Scylla’s jail cell.
The late-night girlfriend meeting worked and Anacostia was able to get in and see Scylla’s Spree origin story and get the location of Spree headquarters to plan a Witch Army attack. Anacostia also detected Scylla had some regret for what she did. She tells this to the other witch leaders, but they don’t seem to care. Maybe Scylla will have a chance to redeem herself.
- Station 19 – Season 3 Episode 14 “The Ghosts That Haunt Me” [Live]
-
Here’s my #Marina Station 19 report from last week’s episode:
- Scene one: 1 minute 20 seconds
- Scene two: 1 minute 9 seconds
Carina and Maya were having some Inappropriate For Work on the Taxpayer’s Dime time in Maya’s office when they were interrupted by a surprise visit from Maya’s mom.
Maya’s mom tells her she’s leaving her dad because he is abusive. She also apologizes for not intervening when Maya’s dad was abusive to Maya (recap on that backstory). Maya is in complete denial of her dad being abusive and actually gives him credit for her ambition and life accomplishments.
They have another confrontation over this at the Station Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser and Maya storms off to her office. Carina also has an intense dad and tries to talk to her.
I hope Maya is able to face the truth about her childhood in the remaining two episodes of this season and her and Carina can live happily ever after.
- Tommy – Season 1 Episode 11 “This Is Not a Drill” [Live]
-
My wife: “You have to put the cartoon on your post next week.”
Closeup:
It’s so terrible it made us laugh.
- Vida – Season 3 Episode 2 “Episode 18” [Live]
-
Nico really messed up this episode. You do NOT betray Emma’s trust!
I still love Emma even when she’s being cold as hell. I wonder if Nico will be able to charm her way through the giant wall Emma just put up.
This week: Wear a mask, wash you hands and watch TV! See you next week.
Tommy show pic—-needed that laugh …hahahaha wow! thanx…..
Actually to clarify my previous comment…… I really do not appreciate cartoons like that.. I really do think it is distasteful and done with poor judgment ..to say the least……my opinion..
I know what you mean. The cartoon made me laugh at the absolute absurdity and wrongness of it all. I laughed because of how terrible it was. Which I suppose makes sense contextually. The point was the people who made that cartoon were idiots.
yep…The show was canceled–sort of happy –sort of not–too tired to figure it out (lol) but anyway I was glad to see a show like that have a chance on TV , perhaps someone else will pick up the reins and run. ( as for me I can now get an extra hour sleep lol and let your website introduce me to something new lol) please take that as a very great compliment , it comes with heart. Thanks again , Marie
Introducing people to new shows to watch is what motivates me to write for and build this website, so I take that as a wonderful compliment. Thank you 🙂
