Queer Beats – September 6, 2019

Queer Beats with Nikki Tantum Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, many new convention guests were announced and DragonCon gave us a lot of good, sweet content.

American Gods

Devery Jacobs, star of American Gods and The Order, will be joining Clexacon next year!

Batwoman

Batwoman premiere countdown: 30 DAYS!! This week, we got a new full promo that proves the show will be as dark as expected:

In other news, I might die if I don’t get this:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Alyson Hannigan posted this sweet Tara/Willow moment, which is conveniently timed with my current first-time Buffy watch (I know, I know, I’m approx. two decades late to the party).

Carmilla

Elise Bauman will be at Love Fan Fest again (Natasha will also be there)!

One Day at a Time

QFX added a few guests to their lineup this week, including Isabella Gomez!

Runaways

Clarissa Thibeaux will be returning (with other members of the Runaways cast) to Clexacon!

RWBY

Arryn Zech will also be joining QFX East in May!

She-Ra

I know Adora/Catra aren’t technically a queer couple but we all ship them anyway and we all deserve to see this mural:

Steven Universe

Steven Universe The Movie aired this week! SU creator, Rebecca Sugar, is honestly just as soothing to me as the show is so enjoy this behind-the-scenes content:

Also, Erica Luttrell will be going to QFX East!

Wynonna Earp

DragonCon happened and, by far, the most queer TV content came from the Wynonna Earp panel where Team WayHaught was out in full force. I mean, let’s all swoon over these pics:

Question: how can I permanently live in the following dreamed up WayHaught scenario?

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About Nikki Tantum

Nikki has always known two contradictory things to be true: queer TV can save lives and queer female cop/agent characters will be the death of all of us (looking at you Officer Haught, Director Danvers, Detective Sawyer, and Sameen Shaw). Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
