Queer Beats – February 7, 2020

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, Nikki is mad that Netflix took Spinning Out away from us.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Iyari Limon will be joining Clexacon this year!

Carmilla

Sadly, Natasha Negovanlis will no longer be starring in Tello’s I Hate New Year’s.

Haunting of Hill House

A new series was announced for The Haunting of Hill House creator, Mike Flanagan, titled Midnight Mass. Kate Siegel (who we all loved as Theodora Crain in HoHH) will be starring!

Ray Donovan

Ray Donovan has been cancelled after seven seasons. Kate Moennig was on this show as Lena before she stepped directly off of it and onto the set of The L Word: Generation Q (with the same bag, as Tracy likes to point out).

Spinning Out

Netflix’s new show, Spinning Out, has been cancelled after one season which is a bummer because this show had all the things I like: Kaya Scodelario, female athletes, family drama, and long-lost gays!

Swerve

Winny Clarke is also headed to Clexacon!

These Thems

Vico Ortiz is also joining the Clexacon lineup! Along with co-stars Shaan Dasani and Nick Park.

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
