Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! I hope any Americans reading this had a lovely holiday where you successfully avoided all the bad members of your family. This week, immerse yourself in queer TV news instead of interacting with your extended family!
Doctor Aphra
This week on IF-THIS-IS-TRUE-I-WILL-LOSE-MY-MIND:
For those who don’t know, Doctor Aphra is a comic series set in the Star Wars world that follows the life of an archeologist who also happens to be a queer woman of color. Sounds like a great character to lead a series, if I do say so myself!
How to Get Away with Murder
The final season of HTGAWM is currently airing and is, as usual, full of drama. Viola Davis tweeted this week about what she loves about her character, Annalise:
Lost Girl
Everyone welcome Zoie Palmer to the QFX East lineup!
Master of None
This is your yearly reminder to watch Lena Waithe‘s Emmy-award winning episode of Master of None (“Thanksgiving”). Also, Lena and Young M.A. played “Would You Rather” and I have never been more entertained:
Mrs. Fletcher
I hope no one gets mad at me for this but I had never heard of the HBO series, Mrs. Fletcher, before this week. Thankfully, I saw Jen Richards tweeting about her role in the show…
and that was enough to convince me to watch. I also found out that the cast is led by Kathryn Hahn and really didn’t need any extra convincing!
Steven Universe
A new Steven Universe game is out on Apple Arcade! Now is your chance to help the Crystal Gems defend the universe!
And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
