Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, we are thankful that so many of our favorite shows announced renewals and premiere dates! Also, everyone go support RED!

Atypical

Oh man, this news made me so happy. A new season of Atypical will be coming to Netflix on November 1st! I cannot wait to find out what happens with Casey and Izzie.

And here’s a picture of them from the new season to remind you all of how cute they are:

Batwoman

We are just mere days away from the Batwoman premiere. I can’t believe we made it. Here’s a new trailer that includes Kate kissing a mystery girl:

Ruby Rose has continued her press tour to talk all things Batwoman:

The rest of the cast is excited too! Meagan Tandy posted about some of the Batwoman signs she has been seeing around town!

The Bold Type

This week on Nikki Misses Adena:

Charmed

A new trailer for Charmed Season 2 dropped this week:

Dear White People

DWP will be back for a fourth (and final) season!!

Grand Hotel

Unfortunately, ABC also cancelled Grand Hotel this week:

Legends of Tomorrow

I’m desperate for LoT content. All the CW shows are returning (or premiering) this week and I will be missing this show and these two:

I’m also going to drop this here. Zarlie may not be canon (yet) but I can’t resist.

RED

The Season 6 crowdfunding campaign for RED has begun! If you love the show as much as we do, be sure to consider supporting them by visiting their Indiegogo page and donating!

Runaways

We finally got a Runaways premiere date!

Secret Bridesmaids’ Business

If you are Katie McGrath stan (as I know many of you are), you may want to check out this new Australian miniseries:

Shameless

The new season of Shameless is coming next month which means new promo images are being released. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from our resident wlw queer character:

Stranger Things

All the new season announcements happened this week! Stranger Things will also be back for a fourth season:

Tales of the City

Freeform will be rebooting Party of Five and two new cast members were announced this week. One will be the trans, non-binary actor, Garcia, who you may remember from Netflix’s recent Tales of the City!

Transparent

The Transparent musical finale dropped last weekend and we all had to say a tearful goodbye to the Pfeffermans.

Vida

The Vida fam is back together for season 3!

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki has always known two contradictory things to be true: queer TV can save lives and queer female cop/agent characters will be the death of all of us (looking at you Officer Haught, Director Danvers, Detective Sawyer, and Sameen Shaw). Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
