Queer Beats – February 5, 2021

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, Atypical and Lucifer started filming again!

As an overall note: the CW announced its list of renewals and, as far as I can tell, all the shows with queer characters have been renewed (except Black Lightning, which we already knew). So yay for some good news!

Atypical

I wish I could accurately put into words how this post makes me feel but I CANNOT. I’m so excited that Atypical is back to filming which means we are one step closer to getting Cazzie back!

Batwoman

Meagan and Javicia continued to be goofy on set this week and I can’t get enough.

Her Story

Jen Richards has joined the cast of the upcoming show, Clarice. She was already a consultant on the show (which is great) but now she will be on camera, too!

Lucifer

Look who’s back!

#Luimelia

All I can say is… we are truly blessed.

Supergirl

This was one of my favorite news items of the week. Azie Tesfai will be co-writing an episode of Supergirl in the next season. She is the first main actor on an Arrowverse show to do so! Go Azie!

Also, the GLAAD Award nominations were announced and Supergirl was nominated. Our girls posted this cute picture to celebrate!

The Wilds

Mia Healey spoke more about Shelby and Toni with E! News this week:

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
