Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, corporations blessed us with one entire month of good queer content.
First, Entertainment Weekly released this video full of queer actors from various shows speaking about LGBTQ representation. It’s pretty cute!
As Five
As Five, the Brazilian spin-off of Malhação, has been picked up for TWO more seasons. The show’s first season was a success and they will begin filming season two this summer.
Atypical
We are soooo close to the Atypical final season release day. Good thing we have Fivel‘s instagram account to hold us over!
I would not recommend watching this next video unless you are 1) okay with small spoilers and 2) ready to fling yourself into the abyss because of the sheer level of CUTE!!!
The Bold Type
Ugh, the show already ended this week but I’m still emotionally wrecked over it. This cute interview helped heal my wound a little:
I also loved this Teen Vogue interview mainly because Aisha Dee said she was ready to “throw hands” if Kadena didn’t end up together.
Good Omens
Good Omens was picked up for a season 2!
Hollywood
This was a long time coming but, during her acceptance speech for the BET Awards’ Lifetime Achievement award, Queen Latifah shouted out her longtime partner and son and said “Happy Pride!” This whole thing makes me emotional. Go Queen!
The L Word: Generation Q
The new trailer for TLWGQ is out and, phew, it’s SPICY!
Never Have I Ever
More new trailers!
Nurses
Nurses returned this week for a season 2:
Q-FORCE
Netflix released a trailer for its newest queer-focused show: Q-FORCE.
Slo Pitch
Slo Pitch, a beloved webseries, has been picked up by IFC for its second season!
Star Trek: Picard
Star Trek continues… into 2022.
The Wilds
A reminder that Mia Healey is out and proud (as a bi virgo).
I never get tired of the Mia/Erana content and neither should you:
Work in Progress
Don’t forget about the new trailer for season 2 of Work in Progress!
Wynonna Earp
I will literally never get tired of cute pics of Dom.
And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
