Queer Beats – March 6, 2020

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, all we truly want to talk about is the Station 19, Grey’s, and Vida casts.

Almost Family

We all unofficially knew this was coming but now it’s official. Almost Family is cancelled and our last goodbye to Amandie was a final one.

Batwoman

I am VERY INTO Kate and Sophie so I feel blessed by this picture:

Beacon Hill

Fans of Beacon Hill will be excited to hear that Crystal Chappell and Marem Hassler will be at QFX East in May!

The Brides

So, this show doesn’t technically have any confirmed queerness in it but, it’s about a female vampire who keeps an “unconventional” family with other women AND Berlanti Productions is involved. I think it’s fair to say that there could be some queerness involved.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I’m not crying at this picture of a teeny Rosa, YOU ARE!

Speaking of Rosa, her (ex?) girlfriend was played by Cameron Esposito and Cameron is putting out a book! Guaranteed to be very queer!

Killing Eve

Less than two months out from these two coming back into our lives:

The L Word: Generation Q

Jamie Clayton was on the Alleged NYC Podcast this week!

The Last of Us

So this video game is great and also queer 👀

The Magicians

Sadly, this year’s season of The Magicians will be the last.

Station 19

I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy or Station 19 but I am already excited to read Tracy‘s recap of it because of these two:

Steven Universe Future

I’m certainly not happy to report this but the end is near for Steven Universe Future.

Stranger Things

Robin is confirmed for the next season of Stranger Things!

Vida

I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to end my post this week than a section where the entire Vida cast looks super hot. I mean, come on. Roberta and Mishel acting out the Grease dance? WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THIS?

LOOK AT THEM!

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
