Queer Beats – December 12, 2019

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, Kontrola and Functional released new episodes, Caity and Jes went to a hockey game, and the final season of Runaways is up and ready for you to binge!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Okay, so this does not actually have anything to do with Brooklyn Nine-Nine but Stephanie Beatriz and Dascha Polanco are in it and I needed an excuse to share it. The trailer for In The Heights has finally been released!

Control/Kontrola

This Polish web series has taken the queer community by storm and recently released its 6th episode.

Functional

Another long-awaited web series, Functional, has released three episodes! Check them all out below:

Good Trouble

Here’s your reminder that the Good Trouble holiday episodes are coming next week!

The L Word: Generation Q

Now that we have all finally seen the premiere episode of Generation Q, be sure to check out the cast’s interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

To L and Back, a L Word-focused podcast, interviewed the new cast members this week!

Legends of Tomorrow

Although I am always happy to see Sara Lance, the crossover definitely made me more anxious to get back into LoT. Tala Ashe posted a picture of all our favorite women this week:

Also, Caity and Jes went to a hockey game together and I’m really sad that I didn’t get an invite.

One day, all these pictures I share from Maisie’s account will be relevant to this site but, for now, they are just relevant to my heart.

Runaways

The new (and final) season of Runaways hit Hulu today and I can’t wait to get home after work so I can binge it all!

Supergirl

This week, the Supergirl cast continued to be the best and most brave cast out there. Chyler Leigh opened up about her mental health condition and her new partnership with Be Vocal Speak Up.

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
