Queer Beats – October 2, 2020

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor continue to be a bright spot in this year and Amy Acker confirmed what we knew all along.

The 100

If you were anywhere near social media this week, you will know that this happened:

All American

If you are an All American fan, you will be happy to see that Chelsea Tavares was bumped up to a series regular!

Amar A Muerte

Miss seeing Macarena Achaga on your screen? Good news, she is now joining the new season of “Luis Miguel: The Series”!

Batwoman

I can’t even put into words how much joy the Batwoman cast is bringing me these days. First, we got a sneak peek at Batwoman’s new look:

Then, we got this cute video of Meagan Tandy and Javicia Leslie on set together:

AND we got these overwhelmingly beautiful pictures of Javicia outside of her trailer. What could be better?

Deputy

I was pretty upset when Deputy was cancelled purely because I didn’t want to lose Bex Taylor-Klaus‘s character. But good news! They have been cast as another non-binary character in an upcoming pilot:

The L Word

This week on Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig‘s podcast, they are interviewing Erin Daniels! So, if you find yourself missing Dana (who doesn’t?), be sure to listen to this episode for a dose of nostalgia.

One Day at a Time

As we know, One Day at a Time is about to get a big chance with their debut on CBS. This week, we also found out that, due to COVID-19, season four is officially “done” and now we are waiting on season 5 pick-up news. This is frustrating but hopefully the show gets a big push from the re-airing on a major network!

Person of Interest

I know we, as a fandom, were all already in agreement on this but Amy Acker also agrees that Root is obviously alive:

Ratched

As usual, Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor‘s relationship is a bright spot in this horrible year:

Wynonna Earp

Wynonna Earp was nominated for a People’s Choice Award and here’s Melanie Scrofano being cute about it:

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
