Top 8 Wall Make-out Scenes.

Top 8 Wall Make-out Scenes.

Never have I been thrown up against a wall and kissed hard.
-Molly from The Four-Faced Liar

Us fans have our particular things we love when it comes to favorite TV couples — height differences, enemies then girlfriends, grumpy paired with cheerful, etc.

What is my thing? I love it when a couple makes out against a wall.

I think it’s because so often wlw sex scenes are shot in slow motion through gauzy curtains while music from the Lilith Fair second stage plays in the background. We’re not shown to be as physically passionate as opposite-sex couples and that has always bothered me.

To quote Kia from the movie Go Fish, “What would you rather our collective lesbian image be? Hot passionate say yes to sex dykes or touchy-feely soft-focus sisters of the woodland?” I know that over two decades old quote is now outdatedly monosexual, but you get the point.

Here is a list I put together of my favorite wall make-out scenes for you all to enjoy!

Christine and Sam Love Daily – Season 1 Episode 2 “Christmas Dumplings”
wall make-out scenes Love Daily - Chinese Dumplings

This is a single episode from a series where every episode is about a different couple. It was such a cute and perfect little story. This scene is a classic “one time thing, never happening again” secret kiss. Spoiler alert: it happens again.

If you haven’t seen this yet, you can watch the episode online.

Emma and Izzy You Me Her – Season 1 Episode 3 “No Penetration”
wall make-out scenes You Me Her - Emma and Izzy kiss

Early on in Emma, Izzy and Jack’s triad relationship, you learn Jack was unaware that Emma (who is married to Jack) had relationships with women prior to their marriage. Later on in the series, Emma thinks she may be a lesbian and not bisexual (that is still up in the air as of now).

This scene is from Emma and Izzy’s first proper one-on-one date and you can see Emma’s enthusiastic about being with a woman again. I also love that they’re drinking cheap booze in the rain and Emma pulls Izzy into a doorway to kiss her.

Cat and Sam Lip Service – Season 1 Episode 4 “Episode 4”
wall make-out scenes Lip Service - Cat and Sam

I miss Cat and Sam. I especially miss Sam because I’m a sucker for a lesbian cop.

If you haven’t watched Lip Service, you can watch the series on Tello.

Callie and Arizona Grey’s Anatomy – Season 6 Episode 12 “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked”
wall make-out scenes Grey's Anatomy - Callie and Arizona

I loved Calzona, but I felt like they got fewer and less intense scenes their straight co-workers hooking all over the hospital. This one was wasn’t bad, except it ended up with Callie having chickenpox, which is why she’s hot with a fever.

Carlota and Sara/Oscar Cable Girls (Las Chicas Del Cable) – Season 1 Episode 4 “Feelings”
wall make-out scenes Cable girls, Las chicas del cable - Carlota and Sara

I love when a couple goes on a caper or does an act of low-stakes vandalism for a good cause. These two throw a rock through Carlota’s oppressive parents house, run off, and then celebrate by making out. Fine by me!

Sara and Alex Supergirl – Season 3 Episode 8 “Crisis on Earth-X Part 1”
wall make-out scenes alex and sara make out at Barry and Iris' rehearsal dinner

When Sanvers broke up I was really sad. I knew there was probably going to be a Sara Lance / Alex Danvers hookup during the big Arrowverse crossover and it was exactly the fun scene I needed at the time. I loved the two of them drinking and bonding at Barry and Iris’ rehearsal dinner. And I absolutely LOVED the fact that we cut to the two of them making out right after Joe’s sappy speech.

Sara’s hand on the wall is a nice touch, too.

Petra and JR Jane the Virgin – Season 4 Episode 11 “Chapter Seventy-Five”
wall make-out scenes Jane the Virgin Petra and JR

Petramos is one of my all time favorite queer ships. I think Petra and JR have amazing chemistry. This scene was from when Petra had a dream about being with JR before their actual relationship. Petra had that dream on her mind for a couple episodes. I loved how they would randomly cut to the dream and then Petra would have that look on her face.

Naomi and Emily Skins – Season 3 Episode 9 “Katie and Emily”
wall make-out scenes Skins - Naomi and Emily

This is my number one favorite.

It starts with the, “identical twin (or clone) having to dress as their sibling (or clone) and the girlfriend instantly knowing it’s not them,” trope. At that point, Naomi is still in the not accepting her sexuality phase and she tells Emily she’s going away for the Summer to spend time by herself. She nonchalantly says, “Let’s just be friends.” As Naomi walks away, Emily says, “I’ll Miss You.” Then Naomi comes running back to kiss her and her whole tough facade comes crashing down.

The first time I watched it, I really didn’t see it coming. I thought it would be 10 more episodes of “we’re just friends,” but no, she kisses her right there in the school.

That’s my list, I know I must have missed some! If you have a favorite wall make-out scene, let me know in the comments. If I can find it online, I’ll make you a GIF.

Update: Bonus wall make-out scenes!

HappyRealist3 brought a couple of scenes to my attention on International Kissing Day no less. These are two wall make-out scenes that would have totally made the cut, but I wrote this post before I saw these series. Thank you, Happy Realist, for these awesome suggestions!

Liz and Mel RED – Season 2 Episode 5 “Sensações”
RED - Liz and Mel

I love this one, because it’s the culmination of over a season of Mel not giving in entirely to an affair with Liz. Also Mel spends the first half of the episode walking around town all angst ridden (sad Mel is still so cute) and winds up at Liz’s apartment.

Emma and Cruz Vida – Season 1 Episode 4 “Episode 4”
Vida - Emma and Cruz make out

That GIF is just a short cut because the scene is pretty NSFW and I don’t want Google to flag us again.

In this episode Emma is doing some recon on competing bars in the neighborhood when she runs into Cruz and her queer posse. She winds up hanging out, dancing and drinking with them all night.

By this time we’ve figured out that Emma and Cruz have history and we know Emma has intimacy issues. I love that Emma lets her mean bossy bitch guard down for a moment to hook up with Cruz.
