Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, The L Word released a new trailer, She-Ra announced a new non-binary character, and Wynonna Earp fans raised over $10,000 for Spirit Day!
The 100
Calling all fans of The 100! If you’re sad about the show ending, you might be in luck! A pilot is being filmed for a possible prequel spinoff series:
Batwoman
I’m still loving how much Meagan Tandy interacts with fans about Sophie and Kate:
The L Word: Generation Q
Another trailer was released this week for the new L Word series! And I just want to say, I really need a friend like Jacqueline Toboni in this trailer who will just automatically ask a new person if they are gay…
Sarah Shahi confirmed that she will not be in the new show [insert broken heart emoji here] but it looks like her and Ilene are still hoping to make it happen!
One Day at a Time
The ODAAT crew are finally getting back together to start work on the new episodes!
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
This is my absolute favorite news of the week! She-Ra will be getting a new character in the upcoming season (out November 5th) and they will be non-binary!
Supergirl
I’ve been really enjoying the (spoiler-free) behind-the-scenes content from this year’s crossover. Melissa and Grant are cute in this video but all I could focus on was Alex and Kate (aka Chyler and Ruby) talking!
I also keep talking about what a dream it would be for us to get an all queer women fight scene. The likelihood of that happening is slim but these pictures brought me a bit closer to it!
Finally, Floriana Lima celebrated Sanvers on her Instagram story this week and made us all cry a little:
Wynonna Earp
Emily Andras spoke to TV Guide about what themes we can expect to see in Season 4.
As Wynonna Earp fans do, they decided to #ChooseKindness again and raised $10,000 for GLAAD in honor of Spirit Day! Definitely not the first time this fandom has come together to do good and it certainly won’t be the last!
And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
