Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, the Emmys gave us multiple queer reunions and the Nikki and Nora universe expanded!
Before I start, everyone should check out Mika’s Emmy Roundup because she covers all queer Emmy things that happened at the awards show!
Amar a Muerte
In case you’ve forgotten (I’m sure you haven’t), there is a Juliantina movie in our future. Their popularity has really soared across the world and, in Mexico, they will be gracing the cover of Elle this October:
The ship were together this past week which also means we got some cute content:
American Gods
Devery Jacobs is the newest guest to be added to the QFX East guest lineup!
Black Lightning
At this point, I am desperate for any ThunderGrace content I can get my hands on. They were unfortunately not included in the new Black Lightning trailer, but the news came out that we will get to see a young Grace this season!
Nikki and Nora
In big queer TV news this week, Mandahla Rose and Nicole Pacent (a real life couple, by the way) announced that they will be starring in a new series, Delta and Daisy!
It will be a spinoff of the beloved Nikki & Nora series. Be sure to visit their IndieGoGo page to help fund the show!
While we are on this topic, Mandahla was also announced as another QFX East guest!
Killing Eve
Did anyone feel themselves get gayer after looking at these post-Emmy shots of Jodie Comer? Just me? Cool.
The L Word
I’m definitely a little late to this news but the Hollywood Reporter announced that Jennifer Beals and Ilene Chaiken will be adapting Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for Freeform, which is essentially a dream come true because I loved the book!
Also, this mini L Word reunion happened at the Emmys. As a Shane/Carmen stan, I was very happy!
She-Ra
She-Ra’s creator, Noelle Stevenson, got married this week and let’s all just sigh over how beautiful the pictures are:
Veep
Clea Duvall was at the Emmys (Veep) and so was Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) which led to this perfect But I’m A Cheerleader mini-reunion:
Wynonna Earp
WayHaught fans, rejoice! Dom and Kat will also be at QFX East in May!
And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.
