Queer Beats – February 18, 2022

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news. This week, Batwoman gained national attention and I continue my quest to find other queer One Tree Hill fans.

Batwoman

Apparently we need to thank Meagan Tandy for MONTHS WORTH of Wildmoore extra credit work…

Batwoman has been getting more and more attention in the media, including this Javicia Leslie interview with TODAY!

The show even made it to the big-time this week with a clue on Jeopardy.

Euphoria

The success of Euphoria’s second season has catapulted them right into a third season pickup.

Swipe on Zendaya’s post to read about her feelings on Rue and what she hopes the audience will take away from her story.

Time to celebrate all the women of Euphoria!

High Fidelity

Personally, I never understood why High Fidelity was cancelled. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Zoe Kravitz also still can’t believe the cancellation.

Jane the Virgin

Yael Grobglas provided us with a throwback to when Petramos was a thing.

Killing Eve

New poster release for Killing Eve’s final season!

Kontrola

Kontrola fans will be happy to see that a new season recently came out on February 10.

The L Word: Generation Q

TLWGQ was picked up for another season! We can all breathe again!

The Last of Us

We will have to wait a little longer for The Last of Us series on HBO.

Legends of Tomorrow

The LoT crew will be featured in a mini comic series!

Love, Victor

What would a Queer Beats post be without a cancellation announcement *eye roll*.

One Tree Hill

Admittedly, this is a selfish section because I am a life long One Tree Hill fan and all I want is to find other queer OTH fans (hit me up on Twitter @GayCrystalGems). In the recent Drama Queens podcast episode, Hilarie Burton talked about her experience filming the classic “dyke” t-shirt scene and what it meant to her. It meant a lot to all us queer fans too! The Peyton/Anna storyline changed my life in ways that I didn’t even realize at the time.

Orphan Black

I wish everyone could see the excitement I feel when I get to add an Orphan Black section to Queer Beats. Apparently, the Orphan Black sequel series is still being developed. I have no other words to say besides *screams*.

It feels like it has been 84 years since we have seen a new video of Tatiana, but we finally got one!

Owl House

We have a date for the new Owl House episodes!!

Pose

My day was automatically made better when I saw this moving cover of MJ on Vanity Fair.

Rebelde

Get a behind-the-scenes look at THAT scene from Rebelde.

Stranger Things

Looks like the upside down is closer than we think…

Untamed

Could there be better news than finding out that an out queer actress is going to be playing the lead role in a tv series based on a book by an out queer writer? Can’t wait to see Sarah Paulson in this!

The Wilds

Look who is back…..

Wynonna Earp

Kat posted some throwback pictures of the early Wynonna Earp days.

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.

”Astrid and Lilly save the world” will have (probably) a lesbian story.
It seems that Lilly and Candace will follow the route from enemies to lovers
It’s on SyFy. Check it, it’s fun!
