Queer Beats – April 25, 2019

Queer Beats with Nikki Header

Welcome back to Queer Beats, your weekly one-stop shop for queer television news! This week, Juliantina soared, Atypical keeps getting queerer, and Jane the Virgin said goodbye.

Amar a Muerte

Honestly, I couldn’t even post all the amazing content we have been getting from Macarena Achaga and Bárbara López even if I tried. They have been straight up spoiling us. I posted some of my favorites below but definitely check out their social media for more:

Atypical

Hooray for the queerest season of Atypical yet! It was announced this week that Sara Gilbert will be joining the cast.

And we keep getting clues from Brigette Lundy-Paine and Fivel Stewart about their character’s upcoming relationship. I would say it’s a potential relationship but I feel pretty positive that we will be getting some good content next season.

The Bold Type

Have you been missing Adena as much as me? Well, to try to keep myself in good spirits, I am celebrating the fact that Nikohl will be starring in a new LGBTQ movie! (By the way, I also think we should still have faith that Adena will be back…)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Rosa’s new relationship makes my heart soar in so many ways but LOOK AT THESE PICTURES! OUTRAGEOUSLY CUTE!

Good Trouble

Here’s another real cute pic of some of our fave queers (and maybe one of our not-so-faves) on Good Trouble.

Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin finished filming this week and everyone was a mess (including me). Be sure to check out Yael‘s instagram for many tear-filled pictures! (Note: Rosario is mysteriously not in any photos…)

Impossible goodbye.

My favorite goodbye post by far is from Bridget Regan, who honored her character with a donation to The Trevor Project!

Legends of Tomorrow

As you probably know, Legends had an amazing Avalance-focused episode this week full of nightmares, promises, and Ava dolls!

Pose

POSE IS COMING TO NETFLIX! PUT IT IN YOUR CALENDAR!

Supergirl

Okay, not to bring up old wounds, but every year Sanvers fans come together to donate money to True Colors United and every year Floriana gets really excited so please support if you can!

Now, to focus on the present, Azie Tesfai posted this sweet post about David in the director role but all I could focus on is the fact that Azie and Chyler are in a scene together and the fact that I miss seeing Alex smile!

Wynonna Earp

Giant sigh. There’s still no movement on Wynonna Earp season 4. But, we got a new interview this week where Emily, Kat, and Dom talk about the importance of queer representation:

And that’s it for Queer Beats this week! Always thorough, always professional, never random.

About NikkiT

Nikki is an archivist by day, queer TV addict by night. Her first dive into fan content was when she ran a secret Xanga blog dedicated to pictures of Lorelai Gilmore in the 7th grade. She has never looked back.
